Dr. Paul Mark Kayongo

He completed his UCE from the revered St. Mary’s College Kisubi in 1989 and his UACE from Bugema Adventist Secondary School in 1992. Over the next 11
years, Kayongo dedicated himself to the mastery of accounting with study at three major tertiary institutions.
Between 1992 and 1995, Kayongo attained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting, with his MBA in accounting from Makerere University completed in 2004.
Then between 2012 and 2013, he completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom.
On top of those academic qualifications, Kayongo added professional qualifications that further underscore his dedication to education and his accounting profession.
Kayongo is a fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA) UK ACCA No. 1350639 majoring in finance, as of November 2017, a member of the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA) No. FM3706, as of May 2021,
and a fellow Certified Risk
Analyst (FCRA) from the Global Academy of Finance & Management Institution (GAFM), as of November 2016.
He is currently pursuing a PHD at Makerere University.
Kayongo’s academic profile illustrates his capabilities as well as his dedication and passion for business and particularly the craft of accounting and finance. He boasts a litany of academic papers that have been published both internationally and locally on the subject, as well as others which he wrote but are yet to be published.
In May 2023, Kayongo presented ‘A Professional Accountant as a Driver of SME Transformation’ at ACOA in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Two years prior, he presented a paper at Aspire, India on ‘The need for a strong industry and university partnership in the quality of education.
Back in Uganda, he has made nearly 20 presentations, delivered at universities, workshops and conferences, as well as in the media. Naturally, Kayongo has had a keen focus on financing.

At Ndejje University as The Finance Manager (2017 – 2023);
- Operationalization of the financial strategy of the university to achieve the university’s 10-year strategic plan.
- Implementing the university financial regulations and compliance policy.
- Operationalization of the university risk management framework.
- Operationalization of the investment and endowment policy.
Preparing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements of the university. - Ensured that the financial statements of the university are audited and approved by the council.
- Preparation of the university budget and ensuring that it is approved by the relevant organs.
- Resource Mobilization for the University.
